Our history
BY FOUTAS was born, in 2018, from the desire to promote the Tunisian handicraft through an elegant, colorful and modern product: The Fouta.

Traditional towel of the Tunisian hammams since several centuries, the fouta is considered today as a true alternative to the bath or beach towel. Thin, it dries very quickly and takes up little space. Very elegant and colorful, it also decorates your interior in bed throws, tablecloths or plaids.

Our foutas are woven in 100% cotton by craftsmen who perpetuate with passion theheritage and the know-how of their families. The fringes are hand-knotted by local craftswomen who work from their homes and support their families.

Concerned about our impact, we sell foutas designed with 100% recycled cotton yarns, without chemical additives and certified GRS and OEKO-TEX, from the manufacturing surplus of international ready-to-wear brands. We favor modes of low-pollution transportation and our packaging comes from sustainable forests.
We attach great importance to all these elements that give our production a responsible and socially committed character.
